PERSONAL REFLECTIVE LOG FOR MY FIRST LECTURE DAY- 29/01/18
The Lecturer introduced himself and we introduced ourselves too. I was very excited about the whole course, in fact I took it personally because I don't know how other students percieved this topic but as for me I found it very interesting as it made me quickly realise that this is about man's transformation from the First Civilisation or First Wave through to the Second Wave and now to the current Wave which is an Information Age.
I found this topic as an eye opener regarding the Age we are living in as it has brought a lot of pressure on people and the world in general to digest this massive volumes of information around us.
The sub topics within this lecture are self explainatory when I read them and are so clear as sure as death how and where the direction of the world is going regarding techmology and the huge data base that comes with it.
The different Waves of man's transformation are identified and this has some very strong backgrounds on man's relentless quest to succeed. This has been informing us the changes in knowlegde which man has acquired over all these different Ages/Waves has been brought changes which have also given man different challenges to overcome as a result of his successes and pushed pushed him to rise above his setbacks into the Third Wave of Technology.
Looking back, this has truly been a remarkable jouney for man and this topic exhilarating for me as it has given me a very good understanding from which I am able to look and learn what impact this Technology has had on man who has invented. I have also learnt that this world has hugely been influenced by the different technological disruptions such as mobile technology which has had the major effect on man and changed the way he lives. The changes have been so unbelievable such that the world has shrunk as information is made available to all at the click of a finger.
