Week 4 Lesson
LECTURE REFLECTIVE WRITING
Description:
I learnt a very interesting topic today called Business Intelligence and how it effects businesses in general. It is described as the way how online informatrion is acquired, analysed, stored and disserminatred for whatever use but that it must be it must be legal though information could be used for all sorts of things.
Evaluation /Analysis:
1. I think BI is crucial for business in this world today because it involves information about the business internally/externally. It is this data that when used correctively and effectively can break or make the business because it enables management to make short medium and long term business decisions at strategic level.
2. I have also come to know that the amount of data or business information has become too diverse and in such a greater mass that organistions have to devise ways and means of dealing with it so that they are able to use it effectively for their benefit. Of course this has its own disadvatanges like using too much powerb as in the case of google video I saw in class as part of ht e \lectiure's learning material. This I must say is a big challenge for organisation to cope with as so much data is generated per second per day from all sorts of devices mobile phones, computers, tv, mordern cars, plans and all sorts of electronic equipments
Conclusion/Action.
This jouney on this business Intelliegence trip has been so eye opener to me that it has opened a lot of other areas for learning and has alos given me some things to think of such as machine learning and automation. I am thinking that this will definately give rise people loosing jobs because the long term goals of big businesses is profitability and that businesses would be happy to invest in robots that could do jobs effeciently and quicker such such as the car manafacturing industrywhich is a big threat to national labour as time progresses and were discoveries are a norm. I must say that this is a great step into the BI and that geographical information has also been totally reliable on BI, the detection of earth quarkes as well as sunamis have all been affected positively in avoiding human catasphere and disaster.
PERSONALSEMINOR BLOG
1. The seminer has been so interesting in that wwe have been doing group meeting which have been discussing our business youtube for thge group assignment.
2. Having talked about that in class today, we were then contnuing wth the usage of excel and I love the fact I am making so much progressive with creating formulaes something that I have had alswys had a problems.
3. So we carried on with the tasks of creating formulae and how to use them. It has truly been a very rewwarding day in all my cvlasses because I learn somethimng new everyd ay and I love it. My lecturer has been great and coming to think of it, coming to university has been a really rewar4ding experience though it is only the first month but I can visualise and conclude that what a wonderful experience.
GROUP PRESENTATION
This week, we choose or arranged ourselves into groups as usual to continue our group discussions and plansd for shooting the video when we are ready. Today we had our informal meeting in class in our respective groups and I introdueed the discussion as the leading person. Everybody in the team has been looking forward to this and agreed to encourage each other until the presentation is done.
